1. Who we are
Infocam ("we", "the site") is an informational web portal about cameras, phone cameras, photography and video technology, operated in the European Union. Infocam is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Bulgarian users may contact us in Bulgarian or English.
2. What personal data we process
- Comments and reviews you submit: your display name, email address and the text you write. The email is never published or shown to other readers.
- Reports and data requests you submit through our contact form: your name (optional), email, any link you provide and the description you write.
- Essential local storage: a single entry in your browser (localStorage) that remembers your cookie consent choice. It contains no personal identifiers.
- Advertising cookies and identifiers (Google AdSense): processed only if you choose “Accept all” in the consent banner. No advertising cookies are set before consent.
Infocam is text-only: we never request or allow uploads of photos, videos or files, so no media data about you is processed. We do not create reader accounts for the public parts of the site.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Publishing your comment or review — performance of the site's terms (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), requested by a checkbox on every form.
- AI moderation of comments and reviews — our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in preventing spam, abuse and illegal content, and our obligation as a hosting service under the Digital Services Act.
- Handling content reports, appeals and data requests — legal obligations under the DSA and the GDPR (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Advertising through Google AdSense — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), freely withdrawable at any time via the Cookie Policy page.
4. AI moderation and human review
Comments and reviews are scanned by an automated moderation system that blocks spam, advertising, gibberish, harassment and off-topic submissions. Rejected content is not published and the displayed rejection reason states why. Every moderation decision can be reviewed by a human on request — use the contact form on our Moderation & Reporting page. This satisfies the safeguards of Art. 22 GDPR and Art. 17(2) DSA.
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
When enabled and consented to, advertising is served by Google AdSense. Google may set cookies or similar identifiers to personalise ads. You can decline at any time (“Essential only” in the banner), withdraw consent on the Cookie Policy page, or manage Google's use of ads personalisation at Google Ad Settings. Details: Google's Advertising Policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
6. Data retention
- Comments and reviews: stored while the content remains published; deleted promptly on your request.
- Rejected content: retained for a limited period for moderation transparency and appeal handling, then deleted.
- Reports and data requests: retained up to 12 months after handling, as evidence of compliance, then deleted.
- Consent choice: kept until you withdraw or change it, so we can prove consent was properly obtained (ePrivacy requirement).
7. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access (Art. 15) — obtain a copy of the data we process about you.
- Rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure (Art. 17) — have your comments, reviews, reports and contact data deleted.
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18) and objection (Art. 21).
- Data portability (Art. 20) for data you provided to us.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.
To exercise any right, use the contact form on the Moderation & Reporting page and choose “Personal data request (GDPR)”. We answer within 30 days as required by law, free of charge.
8. Complaints to a supervisory authority
If you believe your rights are violated, you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. For users in Bulgaria this is the Commission for Personal Data Protection (Комисия за защита на личните данни, cpdp.bg). You may also seek a judicial remedy before the courts of your member state (Art. 79 GDPR).
9. Security
The site is served exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections. Data is hosted by a professional EU-compliant infrastructure provider with access controls and audit logging. If you discover a security vulnerability, do not exploit it — report it through the contact form on the Moderation & Reporting page and we will act on it promptly. We follow the security-of-network-and-information requirements applicable to digital services (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, Art. 45 DSA) and good practice under the EU Cybersecurity Act framework.
10. Children
Infocam is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly process data of children under 14; if you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect legal or technical changes. The “last updated” date above always shows the current version; material changes are announced on the site.
