Moderation & Reporting
Last updated: 18 October 2026
1. How moderation works
Infocam hosts text-only reader discussions. Every comment and review is checked by an automated moderation system before publication. The system rejects spam, advertising, gibberish, harassment, hate speech, profanity and clearly off-topic submissions; genuine opinions about camera gear are published, including critical ones.
2. Statement of reasons (DSA Art. 17)
When a submission is not published, you immediately see a specific reason for the decision on screen, and the decision is recorded. Rejections are never silent.
3. Human review and internal complaints (DSA Art. 20)
Any moderation decision can be reviewed by a human. Submit an appeal through the form below (choose “Report illegal content” and describe your appeal) — it is free of charge, a person examines the decision, and we inform you of the outcome and its grounds without undue delay.
4. Notice-and-action mechanism (DSA Art. 16)
Anyone can report content they consider illegal — whether or not they are a reader of Infocam. A valid notice states what content is reported, where it appears (a link) and why it is alleged to be illegal. We act on valid notices without undue delay: content is removed or disabled, the reporter is informed, and records are kept as evidence under the DSA. Reports are processed in the order received, typically within a few working days.
5. Moderation transparency
As required by the Digital Services Act for hosting services, we maintain and publish aggregate information about moderation activity, keep statements of reasons for removals, and maintain a designated point of contact for authorities and out-of-court dispute bodies — reachable through the same form below.
6. What we are not
Infocam is an informational editorial site, not a marketplace and not a trader's platform: no goods or services are sold here, so trader-to-consumer obligations (pre-contractual information, right of withdrawal, warranties) do not arise from site use. Consumer protection still governs any interaction we may have with you as a user, as described in the Terms of Use.
